Sacred Mundanity

Valley Magic
I am here in the Sacred Valley of Ecuador, surrounded by the most beautiful mountains you will ever see. This heavenly piece of earth is called Vilcabamba. Magical waters run through these mountains — the river is alive, healing, enchanted. In fact, Vilcabamba’s waters have a sacred H₂O composition that makes this land a Blue Zone in South America.
Anyway, I’m writing this letter from a little spot where I can see the mountains, hear the birds singing, and watch a squirrel nibbling on a piece of papaya. I’m having a bite of what the kitchen ladies prepared for me — a little mushroom pizza and salad. What a treat.
The Moment
I ask myself: What do I need to make this moment even better?
A little voice answers: “Play Migos Baby.”
I’m sure with all the poetic scenery I’ve just described, you expected me to say something else. But that’s what I truly wanted. So, I put my headphones on and pressed PLAY.
Suddenly, it was an ecstatic dance in heaven: the September breeze touching my skin, the squirrel coming back for more, the mountains shifting colors with the afternoon light, and carbs — cheese and mushrooms — melting in my mouth. F.ck. I was in heaven.
Here I am, doing a little dance while I eat. Feeling, tasting, savoring all the flavors dancing in my mouth. My heartbeat quickens, my senses awaken. I am making love to this very moment, with everything happening inside me and around me. There are no thoughts of past or future. I am the now.
Orgasmic Presence
I was already surrounded by beauty. I am lucky to recognize this, to appreciate where I am, to feel grateful for food made with love.
But it was that exact moment when my instinct said, “MIGOS, baby.” When I pressed PLAY, that’s when I began dancing in heaven. That’s when the moment turned orgasmic.
This is what Tantriks do — they dance in the sky in ecstasy.
A moment of expansion, liberation — of allowing myself to show up as I truly am. Not caring about what makes sense, not caring what others might say, but honoring my desires.
Nothing is More Sacred
Yes, I am a mountain hippie nature lover. But you know what? I like carbs too. Pizza is actually one of my favorite foods — I was a New Yorker many moons ago.
I enjoy squirrels and sacred mountains… and I also vibe with hip-hop. You can’t convince me one is more sacred than the other. Who would have thought that all those different pieces would fit together? That they would dance together so well? That they would create an orgasmic moment?
Well, they all come from the same source — from the Divine itself.
Tantra in the Mundane
If I had let my mind take over, I would have judged myself. I would have thought: No, these things don’t go together.
But I didn’t let my mind rule me. I just followed my desire. I honored my inner wisdom. And as ridiculous as it sounds, this is what Tantra teaches: the mundane can also be divine.
Every single moment, as little or “mundane” as it may seem, can be sacred. The power is in your recognition. This is what leads you to know that you created this moment.
This is what we call co-creation.
It’s cool if...
So baby, when I tell you that “Bad and Boujee” took me for a little dance in the sky — do you believe me now?
It’s cool if you don’t. Your approval doesn’t change what I lived. I share this not to be approved, but in case it lands in you as inspiration.
The Gift of Pleasure
As the tantrica that I am, I advocate passionately for pleasure. Because pleasure provides experiences that allow you to know yourself more deeply.
It was through knowing myself, allowing myself to feel, to follow desire, that I was dancing in the sky. That’s the gift of pleasure.
So as a pleasure connoisseur I will tell you:
“Certified everywhere, I ain’t gonna print my résumé.”
Migos. Fight Night. 🎶
